Walk4Friends is a free 1-mile walk and a family fun day featuring a BMX show, inflatable bounce houses, petting zoo, kids’ rides and activities, food, and giveaways all in support of creating an inclusive community.

Holmdel, NJ – April 29, 2019 – Friendship Circle of Central Jersey is celebrating 11 years of Walk4Friends; an annual fundraising event to raise awareness and inclusion for individuals with special needs and their families. The event will open with a welcome from Friendship Circle director Chana’le Wolosow before more than a thousand participants will hit the pavement for a leisurely one-mile walk. ‘The goal is not about speed or winning—it’s about creating an inclusive community.‘ says Wolosow. Following the 1-mile walk, families will enjoy a BMX Show, rides, moon bounces, petting zoo, art center, open-air market by local vendors and much more.

This event is a great opportunity to involve children and the entire family in a special cause. 100% of the proceeds go toward the expansion and improvement of Friendship Circle’s programs as it continues its goal to provide support and opportunities to individuals with special needs and their families, as well as their teenage volunteer buddies.

One of the biggest goals of Friendship Circle is a focus on inclusivity and the importance of community values. By allowing so many Friendship Circle families the opportunity to come together for a fun, relaxing experience, the scope of the mission will be extremely impactful. Support is so important to Friendship Circle families and seeing how many people “walk” will be both motivational and empowering.

Friendship Circle is seeing a surge of growth in the community as a whole, with a number of new businesses coming into the area. With this expansion, there is additional opportunity for Friendship Circle to branch out and reach more families who could benefit from the program. Two of the most recent supporters are online marketing company NetEmbark and Marlboro Pediatric Dentistry. Recently, Dr Yana Kozlovsky, of Marlboro Pediatric Dentistry, led a dental care workshop at a Friendship Circle Sunday program. She states, “it is an honor to be part of such a great organization and I hope more businesses come out to support such a noble cause.” Having allies who are familiar with the program and could potentially help it move outward is a huge community benefit.

To help with fundraising efforts, Friendship Circle is offering incentives to individuals who raise over $1,000 by sharing their fundraising page or gaining corporate sponsors. Adults 21 and older will be entered to win a 4-night Western Royal Caribbean Cruise for two sponsored by Royalty Travel, while participants under 21 will have the opportunity to win tickets to a Broadway show.
