Rise and Shine is a skills-driven program thoughtfully designed to empower individuals with special needs by equipping them with practical, real-world skills that support independence, confidence, and lifelong success where participants can thrive. 

At the heart of our program is a community-focused consignment store, which serves as a dynamic learning hub. This hands-on setting allows participants to apply and strengthen their skills in a real-world environment, helping bridge the gap between learning and doing. 

Participants will work alongside experienced coaches (in a group setting) gaining valuable experience in areas such as: 

  • Customer service and retail operations 
  • Social communication and workplace interactions 
  • Sorting, organizing, and inventory management 
  • Laundry, folding, and daily living skills 
  • Food preparation and kitchen safety 
  • Social media basics and digital literacy 

Through personalized support and meaningful, skill-building experiences, we aim to expand each participant’s toolbox—empowering them to lead more independent, engaged, and fulfilling lives.

Adult Volunteers- Rise and Shine Program

Friendship Circle is looking for kind, positive, and caring adult volunteers (ages 21 and up) to join our Rise and Shine Program! Volunteers will work one-on-one with adults with special needs, helping to create a welcoming, engaging, and joyful environment. If you’re available on Tuesdays and love making meaningful connections, we’d be thrilled to have you as part of our community. Come help us make every day a little brighter! 🌞
